Thanks to the iPlayer, I have never really been able to picture the characters in Cabin Pressure as looking anything unlike the actors who play them … this is fine for Douglas and Carolyn, but Martin in particular is supposed to be the opposite of tall and authoritative Benedict Cumberbatch, so as I listened again I tried to force myself to picture him in a new way, and came up with someone who’s somewhere between Steve Punt and Schmendrick the Magician.
With bonus Arthur and an embarrassing noncommittal attempt at Douglas.

So adorable. Love it.

Well that’s really rather brilliant! Superb Cabin Pressure art.

DUXFORD TOMORROW!

And my birthday…
But more importantly, it’s duxford :)

And hopefully it won’t be raining too much, but going to enjoy it no matter what!

Oh Martin if only you were real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I go to see The Pirates! An Adventure with Scientists last weekend (which was really good actually - starring Martin Freeman and David Tennant- to name a few) and what is it I see… These Beauts!

Can’t wait to see Frankenstein soon!

And Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Hiddleston gracing the Cineworld magazine…

On another note, it’s my birthday next week… and I’m going to Duxford Air Museum! Shame a certain Captain Crieff can’t join me!!!

if-inconvenient:

Captain dons cap…

Captain Martin Crieff is done!!!

After all the grief of trying to figure out how to make his silly, so-heavy-he-needs-strong-neck-muscles-to-hold-up-all-the-extra-gold-braid hat, IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD (if I do say so myself).

More pictures with proper lighting sometime tomorrow, but I just couldn’t help but show him off tonight.

I do plan on setting up an Etsy shop in the next couple of days once I finish a couple of papers for grad school, in case you’re interested in having your very own Captain Crieff to take on dates to the Duxford Air Museum. I’ll also have the various other crocheted dolls I’ve made for sale. Stay tuned for details!

I want to go to the Duxford Air Museum, would love to take one of these with me :)

if-inconvenient:

I present Captain Martin Crieff, pilot extraordinaire of MJN Air!
I’m still trying to figure out how to do a pilot’s hat, but after struggling with it for two hours and getting no where, I’ve given up for now. But, I haven’t given up completely — after all, our fearless captain must have a cap to don in the event of an emergency.
Oh, and if you crocheters out there have any idea about how to crochet a cap that looks like this or this, please message me and let me know. I’ll be eternally grateful.

This is so cute! I need one :D
